Just noticed AXI have the ct 17 e dust extractor selling at £180ish...how does it compare to the mini/midi,
apart from looks and larger capacity (17L).

Gerry

According to my literature it has the same vacuum as the others that you mention and volume i.e. 3700 L pm, but only a smaller capacity of 17 L. It is cheaper at N&B @ £169-00.

I do support Axminster and have no connection with N&B.

It sucks.

I connected mine to a dust hub I saw in one of Peter Parfitt's videos, run through a Cyclone which I empty regularly. It did seem to lose some effectiveness. I'm not sure if that's because at some point the suction control had been knocked to less than half power or because the dust bag was so full it was a battle to get it out of the unit. Empty bag and contro set to max and once again it really sucks.

CT17 is the old Protool VCP 171 / 70 E re-badged as a Festool. Specs are comparable with the Festool CTL lineup, you just don't get to store the hose inside it or latch systainers onto it, obviously. Standard hose may not be anti-static, might be worth checking the specs??
