Just treated myself to a Festool TS55 from Axminster I was quite surprised as they threw in a couple of Festool clamps for free without too much persuasion,after reading quite a few posts mentioning Axminster did not tend to do this.Have to buy a new extractor now but cant decide whether to get the Festool midi or go for the Nilfisk alto,I was planning fitting a dust deputy to the extractor

If you cart it around at all then the Midi's well worth the money IHMO - a very compact package with all the accessories stowed on board and systainers stacked on top; if you don't, then the extra £200 may be better spent elsewhere. OTOH, I don't know anyone who's bought a Festool vac and regretted it <shrug>
FWIW I have a Midi for out and about and a CTL 22 in the workshop, which is a nice combination.

The CTL Midi is certainly very portable and I take it with me if I'm doing anything with power tools away from home.
In my workshop/garage I have a larger Clarke extractor with a 4 inch hose that I use for my band saw and P/T. If I reduce the hose size down to hand tool size I loose a lot of suck!
I find it better to use the Midi for hand power tools at home and away!!

I will be using in my workshop most of the time so portability is not an issue,I liked the idea of the Festool plus the cyclone designed to fit on top of the Festool as being a tidy set up compared to the Nilfisk Alto with cyclone unit separate which is not so portable moving around workshop compared to just wheeling around the Festool as one unit just have to decide is it worth the cost.any advice from nilfisk users I like the idea of washable filters is that an option to bags or as well as using a bag Im assuming it also has a cartridge type filter as well.
