Has anyone on here got the Festool 577238 OSC18E-Basic 18v Cordless Oscillator Vecturo Machine, and managed to get an adapter for it to take different blades, other than the starlock system, I have a lot of the non starlock blades and wondered if I could use them instead of putting them in the bin

You could try this one:

https://www.swanseatimber.co.uk/too...tool-blades/smart-smartlock-adaptor-for-blade

Full disclosure: the adaptor shown is designed for quick release (lever lock) machines. I have a Bosch GOP 30-28, which is Starlock, but screw fixing (non quick release). I bought the adaptor, cut it in half along the weld seam, put a modified button head screw in the middle where the quick release would engage (to attach adaptor to machine) and then welded it back together. The screw supplied with the adaptor is used to attach the OIS blade to the adaptor.

The short version of the above is that I do not know if the hexagonal Starlock part of the above would be compatible with the quick release system on your machine, but likely could be adapted to fit. Note that in the product description, it specifically states it is not for Festool machines, but I take those words as a challenge that can be overcome by application of intellect rather than a prohibition.

Also have a look on the 3D printing sites. It is true that a plastic printed item would not have a long life, but people like JLCPCB and PCBWay offer 3D printing in metal at low cost. The plastic one would serve as a prototype to prove the design works before making it out of a more durable material.

Thanks, but it does say it's not compatible with Festool and several others
