Last week I blew my Festool drill charger. It was my own fault, not Festool's. But I have a mate who is an electronics engineer, so I gave it to him to take a look at.

No go, all the components on the board are covered in a sort of glue, so he can't get at them to see what they are. Of course, if the back had also been covered in glue then my carelessness would not have been so catastrophic.

It seems that a new charger is going to cost me over £100. Yes, really. For less than that I can get a brand new DeWalt charger and get a free drill with two batteries thrown in.

So, long shot I know, but does anyone have a "spare" charger they would be willing to part with? Or alternatively does anyone have a drill and charger and would like another drill and two batteries?

It a real pain as I love the drill, it's had very little use and I don't really want to lose it. But if I can't charge the batteries...

Oh woe is me.

i cant help on the charger, but if you do decide to go with the dewalt option, I am in the market for a new drill. I could be interested in your festool one.

eBay would be my first port of call. Which drill/charger is it you're after; there's an LC45 (NiCd, NiMH) on there at the mo - here

Thank you all, I'd not thought of looking on eBay for S/H. In fact, even the new ones on there are not too awful, more like what I was expecting.
Mine is a CL12, so quite old by today's standards, but if I can keep it for £35 then I shall.

Again, thank you all.

I should have bought a pack of nails!
