There's an excellent Felder for sale on Ebay at the moment (about 3days to go) Looks hardly used so will be a superb buy for somebody at th right price. I've got the same machine and couldn't recommend them highly enough.

so anyone on here who was interested in this will probably now have a load more competition. Well done

Two Felder 7 series combis on Ebay, both just a few years old, and both up for sale because business ventures haven't worked out.

It certainly tells a depressing story about the current woodworking market.

Thanks Alan, unfortunately I do not have the thousands that this is going to go for :(

and regarding other comments surely this is what the forum is for, sharing information etc..

my thoughts exactly

I think if anybody is in the market for such a machine the absolute first place without hesitation is eBay, so while it doesn't need to be mentioned on here (although Mr Alan Jones was trying to be helpful ) I can't really see it causing too much harm...

I'd agree that's what forums are for, helping each other out :norm:

I don't know. I've had several auctions I've been following posted up like this in the past, and it's very annoying to have gone to the effort of waiting for them to come up and finding them, and then had someone with no interest in the item publicise it to the biggest audience of potential bidders in the UK.

true but like calpol said we all know about ebay anyway so its not as though mr jones was sharing a secret known only to a chosen few.

and the number of us with the cash to bid on this particular one must have been distinctly limited anyway.

and he didnt give the lot/auction number or a link

As always Jake, it depends whether you're buying or selling!

I do take your point though, but on balance would contend that it is in the wider interest of members for the sale of interesting items to be publicised.

Brad

Sincere apologies if I've caused offence to anyone but my post was placed with the best intentions. As others have said the potential market on the forum for this type of machine is relatively small and I thought the few who may be interested would appreciate being made aware of it. If anyone wants an unbiased opinion of the machine feel free to pm me.

What a very strange attitude to take.

I thought that the idea of a forum like this was to share information and to help each other out.

Cheers
Brad

It is, but Jake makes my point perfectly.

If your sharing info to help other forum members in this instance imho you have to decide which of the members your helping out, the buyers or the sellers, in this case it's certainly not the interested buyer.

I have no interest in the item for sale, as I mentioned in my other post I have a workshop full of the damn things :)

This is not a dig at you Jake but I would have thought that if you were after a machine such as this you would have a search on ebay that notifies you of such a sale the moment it has been entered into the auction, thats what I do, or does everyone wait for someone to mention it on a forum :?
