Yep but at a very low volume - I saw the article. I sold an item last night - the cash (100% of the net amount) is listed to be paid to my bank overnight tonight - I shall be checking.
I've had one retention of 45 days when I sold an item at about three times the usual transactions I have - the retention was in part because of the value and in part that I had no formal delivery tracking details (using a specialist man and van service, not a mainstream carrier) - IF I had the tracking I think I would have been paid immediately on my weekly scheduled date.
Wouldn't be surprised if this turns out just to be a glitch at etsy and hysterical reporting (One swallow doesn't make a summer . . . )
The thing that etsy does seem to be coming under fire for is the costs - a real nickel and dime process with fees and fees on fees. Interestingly ebay seems to have made their payments for sales much quicker since moving to their own system rather than Paypal.

I've used etsy, found it to be a bit useless but it's more likely me than the actual website, I know an artist who sells a lot on there but he produces art in large volumes, he told me it works better when you have a lot of things listed, so it's not so good if you had say 1 or 2 pieces of high end higher priced furniture items, I tried selling quite a few things on there with no luck, it seems to be really hard to get anyone to see what you're selling without paying them extra to 'boost' posts, also for some items there's simply too much competition e.g door wedges, so better to have something unique.

UPDATE from my earlier post - all of the (net) money for the sale I made last night is in my bank account now.
