This Entrenching Tool was donated to a Men In Shed.
A new member wanted to have a go at saving this.
So we set a challenge.
No power tools.
No new parts.
In bits.
The handle is not original, but it is a good match for this tool.
By this time, I knew were it was made and for what armed force.
The name of the place is just showing.
This is the tool being de-rusted. After a good wire brushing a mix of:
Powder Citric acid.
White vinegar.
Flour.
French polish being applied.
The handle can be used as a Trench club.
Finished.
This is a weapon as well. One side edge was sharpened to a keen edge.
This is a 1950 DDR Army Entrenching tool.
