That looks like it's been laser engraved.
Thanks I will look at these types of machinesA close up of the letter might narrow it down. From the current distance, it is not obvious if the base of the letter is flat and burnt, as from a laser, or V-carved and filled, from a rotating tool.
Whatever machine it is, it would need enough Z-travel (up and down) to cope with 'flat' and 'edge' work.
