Hi all
Just produced a home plaque for my daughter (just moved into new home) as a present but would like to engrave/bore a small saying into the wood, but unsure how to do this. Logic suggests make a template in the script I want the use a small drill and a pillar drill to carefully bore the letters out??? or would a dremel be a good tool????

I think the ones done that ive seen are done on a CNC machine.

You could use a thin piece of wood scroll cut the letters, and then glue that to a back piece. A similar effect, but you wouldn't have that rounded bottom the inside of letters.

LOL I forgot to point out the spelling mistakes though 9-) nah could only dream of doing such fine work! how do you get your lettering so neat/sharp? I had a quick go at it t'other day and couldn't decide what type/size blade to use so used a FD no3 but not very good results 8-(

Cheers! will give it another go..... this scrolling lark is quite addictive!
