Hi I have an old but ever faithful ELU MOF177E type 4 router. It's the pre 1999 model

The plastic dust extractor kit has just broken again and when I've gone to order one it seems they are discontinued.

There is one for the later than 1999 model available which I actually have here having ordered it in error when I last bought the kit. As a last resort I can adapt this somehow.

Is it possible to buy the later base and fit it to the pre 1999 model?

It will kill me to not be able to use the old ELU, if anyone can help it would be great

Cheers

I don't know the answer to your question but the Trend T10 and DeWalt 625 are very very similar to the MOF177 so you may be able to use some fittings and accessories from those models.

Just gong by the dates on the spares websites.

Thanks for the replies though. Eventually found that the 625 base fits and ordered one so should be back up and running by the weekend

Cheers Neil

They can be repaired.
Use a solvent cement to re-weld the broken parts, then reinforce the area that breaks (The dust tube from the base ??) with epoxy.

I've got one with a repair like that which has lasted 20 years with careful use.
Great routers.

Hi I'd done that a couple of times. But this time I'd done a temporary repair with some tape but it failed and the thing ended up in quite a few pieces

The later design looks more durable so time will tell

Thanks anyway. And your right they are great routers
