Things are coming together quite well and your comments, positive or negative are welcome at this stage. First shot is the cabinet proper from the front:
and from the rear:
Next shot is of the stand which has a very slight splay (only 4mm) but the legs are parallel:
Next up is a detail shot of the top of the stand and the bottom of the cabinet...lots of shaping to do on the top of the legs with rasps files etc:
and a side shot of the frame showing the rails:
and a couple of shots of the bottom of the stand. The cross rail is shaped in on the front, back and the underside to give an element of lightness...all done on a hand held router and table:
All joints will be exposed and ebony wedged (apart from the bridle at the bottom which will just be exposed)
Your comments as ever at this stage of the project are welcome. Any alterations to the proportions of the stand, or any other details that you think relevant (ebony pull on the door, which is just wedged with some veneer) will be taken on board.
