Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forum so I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask this.

I have been woodworking for a few years now and I have had enough with my garage being full of dust from the router and tables saw etc.

So I was considering buying some sort of dust extraction system.

I was looking at the Karcher NT 35/1 Eco Te and the A2534PT or the trend T30. They just seem to be big vacuum cleaners! Are these any good?

What do other home woodworkers use?

Where is the best place to learn about and but dust extraction systems?

My budget is max £400.

Thanks in advance

Hi Gallr8,

First of all, welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find those on here very friendly and willing to help.

Unfortunately I can't help you much on your query as I am about to embark on a similar journey so will watch this thread closely.

Good luck

Hi m8, and welcome.

Are you using the router hand held or is it in a table, also what make is the table saw ?, do you have a thicknesser ? just asking because they can need different systems depending on your noise tolerance

I have a hand router and a table monted router and a Ryobi ETS-1525SC table saw. I do not have a thickness at the moment but I am considering one in the new year once christams is out of the way.

A complex area that has provoked much discussion in the past. In essence, you'll need to extract dust (as far as possible) at source. Dust can be subdivided into 'chips' (as produced by a p/t) and 'dust' from a router or tablesaur, so I'd subdivide the £400 budget into buying a number of separate items. The first would be a basic chip collector with 100mm tube (LPHV) suitable for the p/t and after that I'd go for a dedicated dust collector for the saw. Finally if there was anything left I'd look at a hoover with a flexi-nozzle that could be used with power tools - Rob
