Found a chunk of beech washed up on the shore last week.
Went back with the chainsaw to see what was under the grey, sea-soaked exterior & after some trimming, ended up with two pieces around 4'6" long.
Took it to my local sawmill & had it cut into 1½" slabs, of which there's a dozen, 12-14" across.
What's going to be the best way to dry this?

The same as any boards? Just put it in stick (each 18" spaces or so), and put whatever you have on top to weigh it down or strap it down at the points where the sticks are, and keep in a shaded, reasonably well ventilated area with a cover to keep rain/ sun off.

A very nice looking slab. Spalting can be a bit of a gamble as the line between great looks and real rot is a thin one. Hopefully the salt water has arrested the process. A tabletop with looks like that would be any woodworkers dream.
Regards
John
