I have finaly finished the drop leaf table I was making back in February when I had my small mishap at the T/S.

It is made of white oak with the top of oak veneered MDF. The finish is danish oil with a final polish of briwax. No WIP photos but below are the finished item.

Lovely table, simple lines belie the amount of work put into your work. When are you starting on the chairs? :)

Very nice job their Steve. :D Well done.
Reminds me of our dining table.
I was trying to talk swmbo into having a dropleaf like yours but she wanted to keep what we have, which was finished in dark Jacobean Oak stain, but i managed to get it back to the original colour and six chairs, and looks similar colour to yours now.Lot better.
Will you be making the chairs to match :?:

Thanks for the responce to the table. I have updated the post with full size photos.

Chris, the hinges were OK to fit once I know the radius of the rule joint and cut the slot for the hinge pin that distance from the edge of the centr board (15mm in this case.)

Mack and Paul. I haven't tried anything without straight edges yet so I doubt if the chairs will be made soon, but one day I certainly want to have a go.

Great job, well done.

My next project is likely to be a dining table - if I go down the 'drop leaf' route I'll be in touch...!

I think SWMBO would prefer an extending table though - not sure if that's easier or harder than a drop leaf?!

Cheers
