I got asked to make a drinks bar for our local squash club. I initially thought of a cheap as chips pallet wood and offcuts job, But when they said they wanted a proper laminate worktop and a softwood narrow bar shelf I was a bit reluctant as I have never used one of those worktop router jigs. Being aware of budget constraints I ended up doing it for next to free plus materials and I really didn't want to have to pay for a replacement worktop if I messed the original one up. They seemed quite happy with it and wanted to do all the final finishing themselves.
