Hi

Sorry if I'm being lazy asking the question, I've had a quick look around but can't get a 'simple' answer...

Is there a 'standard' maximum size for what will fit into a drill chuck?

Thanks in advance

Terry

Hi Terry - normal corded/cordless drill chucks are 10mm or 13mm,pillar drills are often 13mm or 16mm - sizes being the largest diameter shank they can take.

Thanks Andrew, and for answering the question in the way I should have asked it!
You can tell I'm not mechanically minded!

Thanks again

I think Andrew has just about nailed it for the majority of 'standard equipment'

The bias being towards the lower figure in each case.

Smaller drill/drivers and craft pillar may only be 6mm.
