Well i have become more involved and now need a place to keep my woods tools, away from greasy metal and car engineering tools. I have a separate shed with a suitable bench what i need though is storage, and i am considering making two drawers out off ply dovetailed on the ends which i intend to veneer with walnut bur and use brass as an edging strip on the top to keep it looking tidy

This will fit into the table

Thoughts???

That's going to be some drawer with burr walnut veneer! 8)

Sounds like you've already got the idea in your head. Only thing I can think to add would be to placing some kind of rubber or non-slip matting inside, to stop your tools from rolling around as you open and closer the drawer. Unless you're planning to fit dividers or something.

Well probably wont need it if my apprenticship all works out and i move my tools into the cabinet makers shop should have my own bench :D

If I consider dividers in a tool-drawer, I usually go for fitted, 'lift out' boxes. Easy to remove and sort through.

Box-joints should be okay for these internal fitments. Maybe a dowel glued right through each joint for added strength.

HTH
