Dovetails, cut my thumb marking the pins today with Paul sellers stanley knife

It's an excellent little knife, isn't it.

On the plus side, the dovetails look fantastic :D

Congratulations.

Neil

Its a nice size and good to be able to changes the blades. Little disappointed that the blade just swivels out and is not locked.

I have found there is a lot more satisfaction cutting dovetails by hand than there is using a jig. Probably going to sell my jig now.
Had a similar experience with sharpening i was using a Tormek for regrinding chisels, now I use sand paper so I sold my Tormek

Do you mean that you are disappointed that they don't lock in the shut position? I almost always have one in my pocket and they have never swivelled open on their own.

I also think they are great (I've got four I think), and I buy the blades in packs of 50 from Amazon for £19, I also sharpen them when required.

I also use one of these knifes and have never found the blade to come out on its own, if i remember correctly when you pull the blade out the black plastic bit at the end moves out and this locks the blade in the out position. hope that makes sense.
