Ok
Strange one but I am sure I am just being stupid.
I have just hung a brand new door Inc frame and architrave etc to ensuite.

Have just gone to put the new lock on and it doesn't sit back in the mechanism properly. Just checked the other new one and that is the same.

Is there an adjustment on them?
What am I missing.
Others on new doors downstairs all finish flush

Evening - what type of door wooden or upvc ? Are these 2 latches identical or is one new and 1 old ? I’ve not seen those cranked face plates on traditional wooden doors .

Both brand new from Howdens
I'm going to take one off downstairs which someone else fitted last year.
I'm wondering if there is a face plate and I just need to set them in deeper in the door

Good that you sussed it. I find that if I get a prob like that, I go away and come back to the task later.
Today is an example, I was turning a project, I cracked the piece… so I cleaned up and went for a coffee sitting dunking a bikky I realised what did wrong
So in the am I will have another go
