My lathe has gradually stopped turning on start up, it hums but won't move, but if I use a piece of string to get it spinning it keeps going, so I guess from past experience that the capacitor has died.
The capacitor markings are :-
AUREX
220-275v 50/60 Hz
55-69 uF INTERMITTENT
The motor plate specs are:-
220-240v
W 259 A 2.5
50 Hz RTG INT
I have tried various google searches but the 'INTERMITTENT' word is lacking from the capacitors I've seen.
I don't want to buy a new motor if it's only the capacitor.
I've tried RS, Farnell and others but don't know if I need a start capacitor, or a start run capacitor.
I would welcome any help please.
Cheers
