The same names seem to come up when I accidently come across other forums. My questions are-- How many woodworking forums are members of this one also members of? Which other ones are also worth looking at?(if you are allowed to say) and if you are always on the woodworking forums, when are you doing any work?

I'm a member of half a dozen or so other woodworking forums, both UK and American.

I use a different user name on each, however!

This is the only one I post on regularly though - its by far the best!

As for time - early morning is my 'me' time - between 5 & 7 before I go to work.

Cheers
Dan

i have only bean on a short time, but fine all the tips you can pick up save me time. i take my laptop up my workshop, the wife thinks i,m on the net looking for *** ,

This is the only one i use and that only recently.Glad to see that i am on the best one if other posters views are correct.

I'm a member of several woodworking forums - some here some overseas. They are all quite different and have different "personalities". For that reason, I wouldn't describe any one as "best" - it all depends what you want from it and what you can contribute and who else posts there. Some I visit just to keep in touch with certain people, who have become good friends, rather than the forum as such. The same applies to Blogs.

I think it's best to stumble across them rather than for others to give links. They are easy enough to find if you care to look........

Cheers

I agree with Paul on this...other forums certainly have a different sort of 'feel' to them and I generally stay on this one 'cos it's where I feel most comfortable and besides that many of the members here have over the last couple of years become very good fiends, mainly through woody/tool Bashes and the shows that we all congregate at...long may it continue, Wesonbirt next month! - Rob

It may be just as interesting to find out how many different aliases individual members have at this forum. Internet is tricksy. I have two. There are others.

From the forum rules:

(3.) Multiple Accounts
Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.

My better half is relatively harmless and is rolled out on rare occaision for general merriment. There are others, it'd be interesting to know how many of us are made up.

A year ago you'd have been banned!

A more liberal regime pertains these days, however.

Why do you have two aliases if not for making mischief?

Dan.

(I may be yet) Ah, but which one of me, Mwahahahaa

Internet anonymity is interesting; bogus persona aren't uncommon. There are lots of non-sinister reasons for operating bogus accounts. In my experience the undesirable sorts, those for example that are brought in to distort debate by appearing to increase popular support for a position or those used to troll forums are easy to spot and mods with half their wits about them will soon be on the case. More sophisticated personas can be much more fun. I had my doubts about HeathRobinson on these boards for a while - it's just a guess, Heath may have been a genuine account, but there was just a whiff of alter-ego about him.

Maybe for you. All rather pointless and self-indulgent in my view and often leads to a lot of unnecessary aggro for the mods who have to waste their valuable, personal time on this sort of stuff. Still, if it keeps you happy........

Cheers

Entirely wrong there I'm afraid. Having had HR in my 'shop for an afternoon a while back (basic plane use etc) he's a very pleasant individual eager to learn, nice chap and even better brought over big tin of freshly baked cheese staws...mmm - Rob
