A cold evening in the garage at the back of the pub. Pity we can't smoke in the pub anymore.
Although, apart from less comfortable surroundings the smoking ban has not really affected the club. We used to organise a big open smoking championship at a hotel in Norwich. The event attracted about fifty smokers, but along with the British Championship fell victim to the band on smoking in public places.
Stephen Fry promised to be a guest speaker at one of our doos but unfortunately this never came to fruition.
I like pipes, now where did I leave mine...................

Although not a pipe smoker (Or any kind of smoker) I'm pleased to see that some aspects of personal choice, (dare I say 'freedom') have not been squashed under the heavy hand of the proletariat plebeian peasants :wink:
