Desperate to find steel wire that isnt galvanised/stainless

does anyone know anywhere i can buy steel wire that will conduct electricity for use in an electrolysis de-rusting project. I have looked everywhere till my fingers hurt typing. I used to be a shuttering carpenter, I know what rebar is and tying wire is but i can only find big bundles of it costing lots of money, i only want some normal steel wire but all the usual suspects b&q, wickes, and local building stores have galvanised and stainless steel wire which cant be used in this, also what can i use instead of rebar for the conducting bars

can i use copper wire instead ? i have lots of old cables i dont use

TBH. I thought that steel wool was mild steel. When I left the last lot outside, it went rusty. You learn something new every day

Put the anodes into the solution.
More the better, leaving 25mm to 50mm above the level top.

Then link them together with normal copper wire.
