Is there anywhere in the UK you can buy just a cyclone, Ondeia uk used to do the Dust pod but its not made anymore. Anyone know of any?

Not many cyclones here Chems, just the occasional tornado I'm afraid!

Roy.

the most common use of cyclones in the UK is in the agricultural or milling industry as they are used to separate the grain from air. You could try somewhere like Danagri, they sometimes have good prices on smaller cyclones which are used on hammer mills. I looked at them a few years back and they did have some which would have worked ok with a 3HP fan.

Interestingly (considering their sales pitch around service) they've totally ignored my attempts to find out what size it is!

I'm surprised that you've drawn a blank with Ondeia - have you talked with Steven Peters (I think it is) as they sell a darn sight more than the website suggests?

Same here,

I contacted them asking for sizes and inlet/pipework dimensions! but nothing so far!!

And require a 16amp supply. Although axminster say it should run fine on a under-loaded 12amp cicruit but can't guarantee it won't blow the fuse when other tools are ran.

I want something like the dust pod, I already have extractors I just want that level of filtration.

Blotech make custom cyclone seperators to the customers specification. No idea on pricing but might be worth enquiring if you know what you want in terms of spec.

Well heres what I got:

Cyclone 1300mm high by 650mm in diameter -- £1337.50
Thimble adapter for motor and fan -- £510.40
Silencer with bend -- £710.00
Dust collection drum -- £289.00
Free standing leg assembly -- £465.00
Motor and fan assembly -- £645.00

I'd rather just by the axminster one!

The dust pod is discontinued, and I did write an email but no response.
Might be worth phoning them.
They can't be a big concern in the UK as Hadleigh is only small so a more personal contact might work wonders.
Just a thought... :)
You might even find they have an ex-demo dust pod lurking somewhere... ;)

I gqave up trying to get a response from Oneida UK.

Went to Rockler's website and have purchase the cyclone from them - only $60 plus shippling...

Nice and simple !!!

Plus tax when it arrives. Love to know how much it will have cost you when it arrives as it could still be the cheapest option.

Update

It's arrived..

OK, for those interested costs were as follows;

- Cyclone - $60
- shipping - $24.96
- Tax on arrival - £19.42

So I reckon it cost me,,,about £75 all in,,,

however,,,may be more than from the manufacturer in UK,,but I did get responses from Rockler and it arrive reasonably prompt,,,

will definitely think twice about buying from US again,,,and probably something to note for UK suppliers;
- if you make it painless, are easy to deal with and deliver when you say you will people will spend their hard earned with you..

BTW - I do buy from UK, both Axminster and Rutlands....to date, my experience has Axminster winning hands down on the delivery, customer service side.
