Cutting Veneers on a Bandsaw

One of the best ways of sawing your own veneers is to use a bandsaw with a single point fence. Just found the gadget below which would be a great tool to use in that respect

There's another one on the market by Magswitch which has the advantage of some height to keep the stock vertical. I've contemplated buying one of these but the need for veneer cutting hasn't arisen in recent years. It would be quite easy to make one with a couple of bearings. some tube and a frame.
