I need to cut some re-inforced concrete panels.

They are wearing away stone cutting discs pretty quickly. I can't find a blade that can do concrete and steel - I'm getting a bit desperate will hiring a petrol cutting saw do it but I don't want to knacker the blade..

Hello selly,
I had to cut a concrete fencing post sometime last month. I have a 4" angle grinder and a disc that I purchased from B&Q. It's a diamond saw blade, cost about a tenner 2 or 3 years ago. It really had a lot of wear cutting paving slabs and now feels as smooth as a babies bum but it went through the post and the reinforceing without any problem. the rods in the post were about 1/4 " diam amd there were four of them.

the diamond saw blade is the way to go. However watch 2 points
one: max rpm of disc vs your grinder
two: the disc thickness vs your locking nut setup on the grinder ( u may find that when u screw in the locking nut the disc is too thin.)

If u have a lot to do consider renting a water cooled consaw from the hire shop. No dust at all

I go through quite a lot of discs and IMO the cheap ones are absolute crap

e.g. I have 3 silverline dia discs (230mm) and none of them will cut through a bradstone walling block whereas my £60 turbo disc (brand worn off and forgotten) which I've used for several years on concrete, bricks, sandstone and roof tiles etc goes through like a knife through butter.

The cheap ones flex like hell as well which is disconcerting.

cheers
