Any one know an easy way of setting up a Box Lock cutter that doesn't involve lots and lots of trial and error?

Roy.

Roy
I keep a previously cut joint, which i use to set the cutter up.
I Keep it with the cutter now, nice & safe, as the first i made got thrown in the "to be burnt box", not a happy bunny when i wanted it again & realised. :(

Oh crikey! Never thought of that! That's brilliant! Thanks James.

Roy.

That's what this forum does best, ask a question and get
a great solution. :D

Roy,
I have a number of set up pairs, each of different thicknesses to cover most eventualities.
One good tip to use though, is to fit a false fence to minimise the initial cut, this makes routing so much easier, then remove it and cut full depth.
Derek.

Thanks for the that tip, hadn't thought of that one either! Damn it!

I'm scratching my head here, will you please stop talking trade and explain what a "box lock cutter" is in laymans terms,

TIA,

Rich.

Regards,

Rich.
