Critique please candlestick

[RATWOOD]

This is my candlestick it is made out of olive ash and ash it is 8 1/2" tall
it is finished with sanding sealer and microcrystalline wax and gold gilt cream
It is an ornament and a candlestick when you need one

I like the design of this, great wood choice and the fact it is functional as well as practical.

I liked the individual parts and the basic idea but I didn't feel that the bits jelled into a candlestick. I also couldn't quite work out where the candle went! Lovely wood and good workmanship though.

The base looks like a goblet
Next one up a egg cup
Top part a , a , [-( sculpture

maybe a re think on the design

The contrasting woods make it unusual but I would have made it in one wood only
