Hello workshoppers.

I must say after having a look around your forum over the last couple of days it does seem to be brimming with friendly advice & inspiration.

Does anybody have any information on the Capitol model saw by Coronet?

I've not been able to find anything other than a photograph on this chaps page ( http ://homepage.ntlworld.com/g.e.malthouse/consort01.htm )

It shows a Coronet "imp". Which looks to be smaller model of the 102" bladed Capitol.

I understand that these machines were used to cut anything from lead to asbestos - Any info at all gratefully accepted !

I Shall post some pictures of mine later today

'm sure Scrit would be able to give an authoritative answer, but I've never heard of a Capital <bandsaw> by Coronet. They used to make a Capital <planer>, which was a 7 inch model, with one of those diabolical thicknessing attachments.
Recently re-found my early 1970s Coronet catalogue, and there is no mention of such a bandsaw in there, just the three wheeled Imp. But it's possible they used the Capital name for more than one machine.
There was also (or possibly was going to be when Coronet went belly-up) a machine called the International combination woodworker. I've never seen even a photo of one, but did see an advert for one many years ago when I was looking for a universal.
