corner chisels, how are they used? lathe?

I received these with a pair of skew chisels I bought. Are they for use with a lathe?
I can't really imagine how they might be used.

As in they were free? I've never received anything for free with a purchase that wasn't useless and the seller was just trying to shift stock.
