It's been a while since I've done any turning, and after having my garage taken over multiple times with house projects since I've moved in, for the first time in 3 years I have a garage set up how I want it.

What I'm missing though, are all the consumables, primarily finishing.

I always used to take an approach of 240grit, shellac, wire wool, carnuba wax and a friction cloth finish.

Before I order the stuff for the above technique, are there any other thoughts or maybe changes in products that I should consider?

Work will be a variety of turning, primarily spindle turning for decorative forms, or storage solutions.

Cheers!

Probably find there's as many different answers as there are turners on here. I work through the various grits to 600 or so, then use the Beall buffing system. May or may not use sanding sealer. Each to his own.

Cheap and cheerful, grits down to 240/320 , cellulose sanding sealer.
If item not be regularly handled then woodwax22, If to be handled then carnauba wax or better still microchrystalline wax.
