I will need some concealed hinges for the wardrobes I am in the process of building. Which type do you use and how much do you pay for them? I normally buy mine from people like Screwfix but they are limited on the type they sell and of course the quality of hinge. I have had a look on the Hafele site but unless you register with them there are no prices. I am also confused as to which type I require as there are a miriad of types and part numbers?? All I require are 90 or 110 degree openers, clip on adjustable for face fitting of the doors. I will require 17 for the robes and wondered if it would pay me to buy them in bulk too? Thanks in advance guys....confused. :?

Isaac Lord or Woodfit (with trade disc) work out about the same cost, you could also try Ironmongery Direct whose's price includes mounting plates. The first qty discount from woodfit starts at 25No, then 50No

What is your carcase thickness, when you say face fitting do you mean you have a face frame of you want them to sit infront of the carcase (lay-on), do you want softclose, just one door to a carcase upright or two hung from one?

Jason

Thanks for the quick reply Jason. I did mean lay on doors as there will be no face frame. I intend to use three hinges per door which are 19mm thick Oak. I would also be using soft closers. Each set of hinges will be hung from one carcass each.

Mailee,

Just looked in the Hafele "Bible"and they recommend 2metre door height 4 hinges, and 2.4metre door height 5 hinges.
Dont know if that helps.

Mark.

Yes I realise now that I will need four per door. I am still confused as to what they are sold in, Looking at the ID catalogue they list them in pairs but looking on the 'Net' Woodfit state each and around the same price as do Issac Lord? Are these sold in pairs as is normal or are they each?

Woodfit & Isaac's sell them as individual hinges, look at Isaacs " Web price for each) Woodfits price is higher for retail but if you are trade it drops by at least 40% which make sthem about the same as Isaacs. Also ID have a lower free postage threshold.

And order a box of 3.5x16 screws to fix them with at the same time, I like the Reissers from Isaac's.

Jason

Thanks Jason, I just ordered them all from Issac Lord and also ordered a couple of boxes of the screws too. Oh and by the way ID's prices are for a pair but they end up slightly more expensive than Issac's anyway. Better crack on with the robes now then. :D

Post pics if possible please! I've got some fitted wardrobe's to make and I'm after inspiration.

A vote here, for Reisser screws, simply the best available in my opinion!
