Hello from Cornwall.
Got into DIY late in life after buying a house in Cornwall 4 years ago and now looking into doing some basic cabinetry for the house hoping to some day build a whole kitchen mainly for two reasons: 1. Our house is a barn conversion with solid stone walls, so there's no straight line anywhere, so everything needs to be custom and 2. I like minimalist, functional design and furniture like that tends to be expensive, especially custom furniture.
Got sucked into YouTube's algorithm and bought Kreg's Ripcut, Accucut and Pocket Hole jigs. I guess many experienced woodworkers don't like the pocket hole style, but for me it seems to quickest and easiest way to get into doing something hopefully good enough to put on display. I'll be scouring the forum and asking some advice before starting my first project.
