Looks like a satisfying job, it's nice to finish things occasionally, or so I'm told...

How fast?!! That would probably have taken me months, although that is not saying much. Looks nice too.

Is paranha pine harder than DIY shop pine? That seems to break out all over the place, making it difficult for me to work with. In fairness to the DIY shop, my tools are now sharper than they were and I may be slightly more skilled than I was then, which would help.

That does nice. What are you going to finish it with?

Sanding sealer and clear wax he does'nt want to change the colour
If you use that finish on the top, just advise him not to put a hot mug of T down on it   - Rob

Hey John, did the offcuts go in your woodburner, if not do it now, your picture is not toasting my home made bread either

john, really like the table and the wood you've used, how did you joint it? (5 hours is way faster than I'd achieve !)

Yes any unusable timber goes in the woodburner we have about 200mm of snow at the moment

I used dowels I have a Joint Genie simple and easy just cut the rails to length about 10 mins and you have done the lot ready for gluing
Biscuits for the top only two boards joint in the centre.

Very nice .... both design & workmanship. 6hrs !!!! good grief !!! oh well
with that kind of speed you don't have to worry about getting slower with age....you still be faster than most.

A very satisfying project, and nice clean work. I won't let SWIMBO see this!

Crooked-Tree..
Parana Pine is quite soft, but it can display some lovely grain patterns; ranging from reds through greys to a kind of birds-eye, knotty effect in the sapwood.

When it was the most expensive timber I could afford, I used lots of it, and I still have some in my rack. You can often find windowsill-boards made from it.

It works well, and is easy to cut. Hence if you stick at it, it also works fast!

Regards
John :)
