I am planning on building a coffee table (mainly because I got this piece of timber when I bought some other form Chrispy, it will either be for our new kitchen/breakfast room or my parents). The plan is to cut down the length and edge the smaller sides to a 30-degree angle. I am undecided if I should do the same cut (30 degrees) along the long edges or leave natural – thoughts?

However, I am in need of some advice. I am wondering if I need to flatten this board? Ths pictures show about 1-2 mm gap on the two ends if so, I was planning on building a router table for this or should I do it by hand….

There is also (I believe) some sapwood, and although this is solid there is a small crack and woodworm damage, how best do I deal with this
