They now come with a solid chip breaker /cap iron, one of the cost savings over the years I think.

I didnt get on with the 2 piece chipbreaker. Bought Quangshen ones from Workshop heaven which are very good and half the price

Put a dab of silicone caulk (or any) in the groove where the chip breaker goes together. It will then stay together. For me, I like the two piece and it makes honing very quick & easy.

Flinn ditched the two-piece cap-iron when they bought "Clifton" from Clico ~2014. They only make them with one-piece cap-irons now.

I'm very sad (not really, I bought enough two-piece chip breakers off them to last until the day I die - and then some).
