Classic car temperature gauge repair

Had to remove the cylinder head off a classic car today and in doing so the capillary tube broke, does anybody know a repairer of such things?

I suspect you would be able to buy a replacement much cheaper than a repair. It isnt just soldering the tube, its the liquid inside thats the problem.
Ebay may well be your friend

Trouble is that the replacements look awful and seeing that its been in it for 70 years I would like it to stay there.

There are skilled instrument repairers around, but youre not going to like their prices.

Oddly enough my 13 year old Mazda is going in the garage tomorrow the engine heating thermostat is to be replaced owing to a leak (and its still under warranty)
