Hurray the clampers are getting banned at last.

My wife got stung for something like £130 when she parked next to the central station in Newcastle for 5 minutes.
I told her Id be there with my Stihl saw in half an hour, but she didnt want any trouble so paid.

I predict a rash of "pikey travellers parked on my land and I couldn't do anything about it" stories in the Mail, after a few months.

we had travellers on our car park at the rugby club, we just evicted them ourselves, pulled the caravans off by hand!! no great shakes.

It i'd take a brave vman to go clamping pikey travellers anyway - betterto get the lpropper authorities (usually a joint police/council TMU team) to serve them wityhn a sect 61 notice to leave

Wheel clamping what is that? Oh do you mean the 'Denver Boot' Up here in Scotland wheel clamping on private land was banned in 1992, because it was seen as extortion and theft

Cheers

Damn. I was hoping there was going to be a rash of secondhand Besseys on the market, ready to be snapped up by underground clampers, willing to flout the law. "Psst. Want that panel clamped up? Twenty quid and don't tell no-one it was me. Sprung joints only, mind."

The thing that amuses me with the car clamping thing is you're immobilised for being somewhere you shouldn't be, thus ensuring you'll be there even longer. Logic, where for art thou?

Am i missing something here, dont park on private land, and they could't clamp you anyway :?

Rather like ...

If you don't exceed the speed limit they can't give you a speeding ticket.

Simple logic.
