Morning scrollers,I need some advice. My son has given me a site circular saw and I need to replace the blade to a finer one.I shall be cutting 4 mm and 6 mm baltic birch and need it to give a clean cut . What type of blade do I need to buy. Mal

One with lots of teeth :D Probably better off asking this in general woodworking to be honest as loads of people over there cut sheets with a circular saw. I tend to get mine a sheet at a time and get the woodyard to rip it into 4 2' x 4' sheets for me then just cut from there on the table saw.

Hi Mal - important sizes for the blade are :-
Blade diameter (e.g 254mm)
Bore size (size of the hole in the middle e.g. 30mm)
Number of teeth (e.g. 24T,40T)

You need the blade size and bore to match the existing, then the more teeth the blade has,the finer cut you will get.As ply is always a combination of rip cutting and cross cutting,I would guess a 40 tooth blade would be a good one to try.
