At what age do you tell the kids that they're too old for a Christmas stocking? Mine are 22 and 20 and still insist on one. What sort of stuff goes into them? I've exchanged the TCO (Terries Chocolate Orange) in favour of a Toblerone this year...but am scratching around for the usual cr@p to fill each one up with...should add that their main presents are under the tree. Any ideas? - Rob

Tell them Santa can't make it this year because of the price of Reindeer feed.

We do stockings, traditionally hung up at the fireplace. I insist on a giant tube of Smarties in mine. I usually put a new pair of ear-rings into SWMBO's.

Actually as each year goes by I find Christmas presents more and more difficult. I don't need anything (well, not that money can buy, last time I went into Sainsbury's there was a gap on the shelf where the raison d'etres should be) and anyway, SWMBO is on call this year (Tuesday is usually her day off, too, so she's well-miffed) she has Wednesday off (in lieu of Tuesday) and is back to normal on Thursday, so Christmas is really passing us by.

As long as a bottle of Glenmorangie drops down the chimney, I'll be happy.

(Does this sound like a Christmas Mint coming on?)

Well, Norma, Amy, Scott and I each has our stocking hanging up by the fireplace and we still put a drink and piece of cake out for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph - so don't tell me it ain't real........ :ho2 :ho2

Cheers :ho2

Ooh...Christmas stockings....that brought back fond memories...waking up, feeling the weighty item lying at the bottom of the bed, hearing the rustle of paper as you moved your feet ever so gently underneath the blankets, reaching down and dragging it closer, feeling through it to see what was there. The white sugar mouse, the tangerine, the packet of chocolate money, the smooth feeling of the nylon stocking against your bare arm as you slowly pushed it down inside the stocking, the sensual feel against the back of your arm, the.......I'll get me coat (after the cold shower)
