While I was doing a previous job of installing a shower room etc I had to run a lot of water pipes and ventilation ducting through the wall into the bathroom.

This then ment that I had to do a little refurbishment to the bathroom. Being a bathroom with very little shelf and cupboard space I thought of utilising the arrea around the toilet.

The top of this I carried on to extend the inside window sill, which was really only about 1 1/2".

The prevous bath panel I have somehow (on purpose) got damage as I was removing it (all the new pipework runs under the bath), this gave me the excuse to make one out of cherry.

A little bit of boxing in of pipes etc prior to running into the eves.

Its all been finished with Chestnut Finishing Oil, wasn't sure whether this would be suitable for a bathroom, but I've had no problems so far.

Project I'm working on now is a computer station/cabinet/bookcase for my Daughter, will do some posting as I go along if you're interested.

Nice Job Waka, even the use of the sap wood looks OK =D>

I know a lot of people won't use the sap wood, but I try and incorporate it into the job so it looks ok, after all at £48.00 a cubic foot its not to be wasted, especially when you're on a pension.

Nice work, Waka!
Looking forward to seeing the computer desk, too.
Nice to see you still find time for the workshop now you're retired......
Philly :D

Very nice too. It's funny how one job leads to another! I reckon the Chestnut Finishing Oil will do a good job. I finished some oak kitchen cupboard doors in the Liberon equivelent about five years ago and they have withstood the steam and wear extremely well.

Looking forward to seeing the computer desk progress as you go.

Cheers, Ted

Nice job. I refitted our bathroom in cherry about 2 years ago now and it's holding up quite well except for a few small water stains near the taps. It's fine for me to wipe up after every time I use the bathroom, but guests get a bit put off if you follow them in to clean up after them!

I'm planning a quick sanding job followed by yacht varnish soon to really protect the wood.

Waka,
Thats a very nice thunder box you have there . 8)

There's a blast from the past, haven't heard that term used for a few years. Of course, a true thunder box would be hanging out the window
