Has anybody tried the oven ready duck l'orange from Liddle, £9.99 yet?
'Er indoors bought one for new years eve, very tasty, jointed, so easy carving and the stuffing was a delight.
And if you're careful carving, you can have the legs later, in the shed!
Recommended! Regards Rodders

What was you're tastiest dish over the recent few days?

Sorry to hear that Phil, 'Er indoors mentioned the 3 bird roast, glad we didn't now!
Was it an 'Orrible taste or tuff as old boots?
Regards Rodders

With 12 for Christmas Lunch, my wife thought a 5.1Kg Free Range Turkey Crown was not big enough and bought a 4 bird roast from Aldi to compliment it.
It was really nice and much more tastier than the turkey. Two of them would have been plenty and saved us over £50!
We had more than half of the turkey left over.

I prepared a nice half price Morrisons chicken that's been in the freezer since the end of October (£1.75/kg!) and also a Market Value gammon joint that's been in the freezer since some time ago when that was on offer (£3.80 for 975g!).

To be fair, the gammon joint was really nice after I'd boiled it for a few hours.

we had a apricot stuffed turkey breast thing from the Tesco finest range. It was very good and just right for the two of us and toddler. Knew it would be though- we had a dry run a couple of weeks previously, mainly because it was on offer at a fiver for most of December!

I dont really get excited about turkey- the last thing i wanted was to be eating it for a months afterwards. I floated the idea of beef, but a deathly silence came across the house so I conceded!

We had leg of lamb, as I don't like either turkey or chicken.
Bought from the local butcher to who we have swapped all our trade, no more supermarket roast cardboard. He does home made pies to die for, sausages that are superb, and has a range of his own spicey concoctions that he dips steaks in that can almost be tailor made - meat as used to and should be, yes Christmas was great, and I have finally learned that if I don't over eat I enjoy it more.

Listen. Sometimes you get presented with an opportunity. Nobody else has taken it, and you know full well that you shouldn't either, but it is irresistible.
I've tried to resist, honest I have, but......
