Was in JTF yesterday ( cheap "junkie" wholesaler ) and bought 2 of these. Cost £15 + vat for the 2

No good to the southern guys as furthest branch south is Peterborough. Don't have to be a trader to join.

Though they'd be rubbish but far from it. Very heavy and stable as well as infinitely variable. The rollers are a bit small but work ok (tried out today) and could always change them for rollers if necessary as the stands are excellent - can't lose really.

I know you turner guys make your own .....but

cheers

I just bought a pair from Axminster, I thought they were cheap at twice the price. Why do you always find out about these bargains AFTER you've forked out ?

Come on Boatfixer! This is the age of the interweb

Put jft peterborough into google which gets that branch and from there, look for one near you.

Yes - I was googling JFT without anything else and getting nowhere - add wholesale in and there it is, just along the road in North Shields

Quote from the JTF front page

"Wherever you are there's a JTF Mega Discount Warehouse near you!"

Not if you're north of Newcastle there ain't :(

Now, what was that about Trade Descriptions Act?

Where is this JFT of which you speak - I need some of these....

Tyne Tunnel Trading Est. on the left off the main drag.
They had about 30 in when I got mine on Wednesday so better be quick. Should be able to sign up on the day. free membership - used to be trade only but anybody now.

It's a really junkie wholesaler but excellent for cheap stuff and can find a bargain if you sift through the tat.

Thanks for the tip off Lons.

Just been and got some, I got a pair of the flat ones, not the "V" type for £15.00, as you say really heavy duty and well worth the dosh.

There was about a dozen or so left.

Also bought a couple of Stanley "Bailey" 4 foot clamps, good quality also, looked at them several times before I took the plunge as I thought they were a bit expensive (17 quid) however just checked on the net and they're about £35 elsewhere so Ive had a canny morning.

Have another look at them Phil

The tops are individually adjustable (kind of lever underneath) so you can have then flat or at various angles.

used mine again today and very happy with them
