That’s very interesting, I remember I mixed it in and was astonishing how quickly it set solid. Phil, what is the hardener you use for Cascamite, is it the acid already highlighted? I would like to try it again by painting it onto one side as you suggest. That would be very useful in a number of instances.
 
It was a long time ago. The acid was sold specifically for Cascamite, but I don't know if it's still available.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerolite_(adhesive) seems to suggest I was correct about the acids, I just remembered they were formic and phosphoric, but I wasn't sure which way around. I tried both out of curiosity but as I said I didn't test the joints in any way, I just found that both hardeners set both adhesives. Aerolite is brilliant stuff, but very expensive ............... depends how expensive the failure of the joint could possibly be I suppose, it's relative. :D
