Hi
This is my first post on the site, only joined today.
I am trying to find out if anyone has purchased this for the Record BS300E. I have comments from other members about the item above, but no mention to one fitted to the 300e.
If you have one fitted to your 300e please let me know.
I have emailed Carters today to see if they can advise on this. So if I get a reply I will post it.
Thanks for any input.

Yes have seen that post I will get in touch with him once I have done 3 posts as I believe you cannot PM untill then.
Thanks for your input

I am following this thread with interest I have been emailing Carter products and sent pictures and measurements for my Metabo swift 360 which I have had for quite a while have decided which carter stabilizer will fit but have recently also had a new addition to my workshop which is a Record BS350 which I got mainly for resaw work so not sure how much bigger the guides are in it compared to the 300e. As for the stabilizer there is a European distributor in Sweden which Carter sent me an email address for but you would be cheaper dealing with carter direct. When you get PM working I can post you the email trail and who to send an email to in Carter products if you like.

Just had a look at the manual for the bs300e and bs350 both support arm are the same part number on there respective parts list. Mine is 14mm dia and suspect yours is.
On Alaxams thread he as the Carter RIK2 which I suspect has the same dia as ours 14mm.
Need to speak to Alaxam next to confirm.
Would appreciate the email trail.
Thank you

They aren't too difficult to make once you get a bearing. You could even use hardwood for the body.

3 years ago before I retired I would have been able to knock one off no problem. I was the soul user of Bridgeport miller,2 lathes and a surface grinder alas no longer.
May look at your suggestion of the hardwood route as I now have dimensions from a pdf file bigbob1 has emailed me.
Have you got the information on were you got the bearing,I assume the slot is for a circlip?

Don't forget that the price Carter quote will double once you add shipping and import duty. The benefits are only being able to use a 1/8" and 1/4" blade with them and the 1/4" can be used in the normal guides. If you need tighter turns often, then it will be good for the price and doesn't take long to switch from the standard guides to the Carter Stabilizer and back once you get used to it.

Hi Malcolm thanks for your help with this I might just try the 1/4" blade for the time being on the metabo saw and leave the record for resaw work which will save changing blades. When I have time I will try making a stabilizer as Woodpig suggests I have a lump of oak somewhere. I did get a quote of $111.97 inc postage from carter and passed this info onto pops92 I think it will be between £115-120 by the time customs and vat have taken there toll as they put import duty on the total inc p&p @ about 5% if I remember right then add 20% vat on top of that.

Thank you too all the contributers to my first question on this site. I will take the advice on board and work with what I have at the moment.
Having seen now first hand how helpful folks are, hope to be using it more for advice.
