I too have picked up a couple of things at the car boot sale recently. Not in Martin's league but here are some photos. The plate cost 20p. I am not sure exactly what it is designed for but it does make a superb dowel plate.
The holes are tapered with a short parallel bit at the bottom. It is nickel plated steel and has Germany stamped on it.
the underside has the number 181 and there is a makers? name that I can't make out.
Also bought 3 engineer's squares for the enormous sum of £1. They had a little surface rust which easily wiped off and they are accurate. I have not seen that maker before.
They were sold as angle brackets!!
Can anyone shed any light?
