Hello all,
I have a Record 52 vice (52, as opposed to 52 1/2 as far as I can see ) where the quick release has become very loose - i.e it has a feature when, if the vice is over-tightened, it releases itself, and not the release is very slack and will release with very little pressure applied to the working piece in the vice.
I haven't been able to work out if this is an issue with the half nuts (which I can fix I think ) or the spring - harder. The threads themselves look in good condition and are true to a thread gauge all the way through.
Has anyone seen anything like this, or have any idea's on what I could do? I have searched t'internet and haven't seen much discussion of this.
