I recently acquired the dating info for wadkin machines and a couple of wadkinites are putting together a register of PK sawbench and trying to establish when the different variants were made and at what numbers.
Have you got a pk, if so could you take a picture of the tag and the saw and either post here or pm

Hello Wallace,

Well it had to happen the JY I have just acquired has been stripped - the bushes that fit over the cam are absolutely knackered, to the point of wearing the pinch bolt on one side!

Any chance of dating it? - the number of the machine is JY 173.

Cheers, Merlin

Blimey - I didn't think it was that old !

That explains why it doesn't have fixings for the bellows.

Thanks very much, Merlin

Yes it has the extraction port but the inserts are all flat, the other ones I have seen have a lower part cast underneath so that the bellows can fix to it.

Do you have any drawings or photos for the 2" bobbin as the centre part of mine is missing, I have some of the top and bottom sections but cant work out how it would work.

Cheers, Merlin

Heres some of mine

Heres the bigger one

Jack did a thread on making your own bobbins using mdf and rubber that could be compressed at each end to hold the sand paper sleeve. I thought I had it bookmarked but cant find it.

Ah ha - that's the part I am missing, I have 3 sets of the round ends but no hinged part.

When I've got it up and running maybe I could make one from timber.

Thanks, Merlin

Bump.

This one went off topic real fast #-o

Anybody got Wadkin PK tags and pictures to share?

Cheers, Vann.

Bump (again).

Come on guys - there must be more than a few Wadkin PK owners here. Is there nobody who loves their PK enough to share...?

Cheers, Vann.
