Please when you get a moment navigate to www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/ and then click the Listen Again link.

I am interested to know whether your browser crashes or not and what version of Flash you are using. I'm specifically interested to know if you are using Flash 9 release 47 or 115. You can find the version number by going to Help..Installed Plug-Ins in Safari and Camino. Or if you are using Firefox then enter about:plugins in the address bar.

Also which version of OS X would be helpful.

I have a theory that release 115 will cause your browser to crash.

If you know anyone else with a Mac, would you mind asking them to do the same thing? They can email me at rogerattristandotdemondotcodotuk

Many thanks

Roger

Roger,
I have Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115, OS X 10.4.11, Safari Version 3.0.4 (523.12.2).

When I select the Listen Again Link I get a new web page:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/listen/index.shtml
When I select listen to Radio 3 I get the BBC I>Player radio and works wonderfully - Can't say that Walton's Cello Concerto is a favourite though :D

I'm running 10.4.11& Safari v3.0.4 at work, going to the BBC radio 3 website invited me to install Realtime player which I have done, the broadcast works fine. I will try the same on my Powerbook which has 10.5 installed when I can find some time (I'm off on a course tomorrow so it may be a few days).

Thanks Mike for the info. It looks as if Tiger is OK with release 115 of Flash 9 but not Leopard. What release of Flash are you using on your Leopard system.

For the record, the BBC site fails before you even start listening to anything. Just clicking on the Listen Again link is enough to make the Flash 9 release 115 cause the browsers to crash.

Will be interesting to hear how you get on with Leopard.

Interesting to see a whole new slew of people having problems with Safari and Flash release 115 after upgrading to Leopard 10.5.2.

It seems that 10.5.2 overwrites whatever version of Flash you had installed with that pesky release 115 and suddenly people are finding that their browsers are hanging and crashing. Feel quite chuffed that I spotted this early on and also somewhat vindicated as there were a number of Doubting Thomases on the Mac forums.

Mine says
File name: Flash Player Enabler.plugin
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r19

but it doesn't work. Unsupported file type, apparently.

I'm using 10.4.7
