Calculating Board Length , amount needed

Im embarking on a Swedish Tool Chest from the LAP plans. I intend to joint boards as thats whats available. Can anybody shine a light on calculating on how much i need? Is there a handy way of doing so?

Calculate the area of your panels and divide it by your board width. Add on say 20% for wastage.
